Drove all over San Bernardino County looking for testing centers who offered Rapid Test. Many of them advertised it, 24 hour or less turn around, But not one of them actually did them 3-5 days.

Anyone know a test center that actually does rapid tests? My son needs one for work.

testing strength/building strength – same thing

If I max out week after week, I will make strength gains, but as we all know after 4 weeks of this my CNS burns out, so thats why we use 70-100 reps in a mixture to continue to train indefinately.

Any training routine that Ive read splits building strength / testing strength at below 80 / above 80. Im sure its not so much about the actual percentage but the reps that can be performed with that percentage.

More than 80 = Less than 6 reps
Less than 80 = More than 6 reps

I know this is only a generalization and everyone is different but for the majority this can be assumed.

May I suggest some toughness tests between the two, as well as cutting. Impact would be great but I realize that most smiths dont deal with that type of testing, at least try to come up with something more meaningful than bending it in a vice, which ammounts to much of nothing while impressing the heck out of the layperson masses.

Impact will be closed for much of Labor day, but will open some time late evening.

Not sure what time we will open so if you plan to drop by, give us a call at 624-0624 and see if we are open yet.

      Have a happy holliday

Thanks Kevin. Do you have any good testing suggestions? Im really trying to avoid making pearlite crowbars and Ive not done any testing with 5160. I know a lot of people say newer smiths use it because it is very forgiving but at the same time Ive read it can be an excellent steel as well. Im looking to use what I have on several 7 to 8 inch bowies. For testing I planned on brass rod test , cutting with rope, 2×4, leather strips, tip strength by stabbing into hardwood and pulling out an acute angle, etc.. What sort of impact strength tests could I do?
      Thanks

      Hi,

please find attached a recently compiled JetQi version for testing. Not much has changed since the last testing release but it might still be usefull to have this release here for reference.

      Cheers,
      Dopi

I found this and got it working but I was wondering how I could have it so that the posted XX hours ago only appears IF the number of hours was for example less than 6 hours ? Is that possible using <IF> statements ?
